Education Minister apologises over gas heater announcement
The Education Minister Verity Firth has apologised for the way she handled an announcement about unflued gas heaters in school, but the Premier has now committed to replacing them all.
Area education officials are concerned about how the newly lowered local property tax cap will affect schools. Earlier this month, Governor Christie signed a bill to decrease the cap from 4 percent to 2 percent, which will affect both municipal and school district spending.
